Introducing Matariʻi i niʻa, the Season of Abundance!

Marked by the rising of the Pleiades star cluster, Matariʻi i niʻa signals a time of abundance in Māʻohi Nui. A season of plentiful food, richness of the land and sea, gratitude, celebration and sharing.

As we welcome this special season, we also celebrate another precious treasure: our language, Reo Tahiti. Just as the land and ocean provide for our people, our language nourishes our identity, connects us to our ancestors and carries the wisdom of generations.

Through this celebration, we honor the abundance of Reo Tahiti, its words, expressions, stories and cultural knowledge. We encourage our communities to speak it, share it, nurture it and pass it on, ensuring that our language continues to flourish for generations to come.

This Matariʻi season, let us celebrate the abundance of our language, our culture and our Māʻohi identity!
